“My life today is very different from what it was a year ago. I'm able to rebuild relationships, be of service to others, live an honest life, and not take myself so seriously.”

What began as a place for people in recovery to find shelter, support, and a new beginning has grown into a continuum of services that includes residential recovery, intensive outpatient care, outpatient support, sober living, and ongoing community connection. Founded in 1969 and rooted in community, we’ve grown to operate four exemplary recovery homes and joined forces with TRIAD Addiction Recovery Services to expand our support.
The work has evolved. The center has stayed the same.
People arrive carrying stress, confusion, and often exhaustion. Before anything else, they are given space to rest and regain clarity.
From there, the work becomes structured.
Daily routines, clinical support, shared responsibility, and community life create a steady rhythm. Over time, that consistency allows people to rebuild how they move through each day.
If someone needs medical stabilization first, we help connect them to the right level of care and stay involved as they move forward.
Recovery is not rushed. It is practiced.
Clinical care matters. So do peer support, authentic connection, consistency, and time.
Recovery often requires support that extends beyond a single appointment, program, or phase of treatment.
At Limen, care is built around the conditions that help recovery continue: structure, shared experience, practical support, and a community that remains present over time.
That is what makes Limen different.
Not one service in isolation, but a continuum of care designed to support what comes next.
A live-in clinically operated treatment setting for people who need time, structure, peer connection, and daily recovery engagement as they begin rebuilding stability.
Clinical support for people living in community, with care that may include counseling, peer support, recovery coaching, and relapse prevention.
Recovery housing for people building lasting personal stability, with support that may include structure, accountability, peer connection, and daily practice.
Community support for people seeking connection, with care that may include peer engagement, recovery education, navigation, and outreach work
Support at Limen does not end when one service or stay is complete. Through alumni connection, peer relationships, events, mentoring, and opportunities to give back, people remain part of a recovery community that continues over time. That lasting connection is one way Limen’s work becomes visible: in steady lives, restored relationships, and people returning to support others on the path.
Through One Big House, Limen is part of a coordinated continuum of care that supports recovery, housing, and long-term stability.
Recovery does not happen apart from the rest of life.
Housing matters. Work matters. Relationships matter. A clear path forward matters.
Through One Big House, Limen and Friendship House are aligning their work to reduce fragmentation and support people across more of the journey from crisis toward lasting stability.
Each organization keeps its distinct identity and expertise. Limen remains grounded in recovery. Friendship House remains grounded in housing, empowerment, and supportive services. Together, the work becomes more coordinated, more continuous, and easier for people to navigate.
The shared goal is stability with dignity.
Your support helps Limen provide the structure, care, housing stability, and community connection people need as they rebuild their lives.

Addiction treatment centers come in a variety of forms, including detoxification centers, residential rehabs, outpatient programs, intensive outpatient programs and support groups, providing tailored care and support for individuals.
An individualized treatment plan is tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual seeking help, while a standard treatment plan is not as personalized. This approach allows for customized plans that are better able to address an individual's unique challenges and provide more effective care.
Yes, Limen accepts government-funded programs for addiction treatment.
Limen works closely with government agencies and local treatment centers like Meadowwood Behavioral Health System, Christiana Care, and Crossroads. Limen merged with Triad Addiction Recovery and also serve clients seeking help from there.
Some people come to Limen after treatment, hospitalization, or another level of care. Some are earlier in the process and trying to understand what kind of support is appropriate.
Families, friends, and referral partners also often contact Limen, because they are trying to understand what kind of support may be needed.
When medical stabilization or another level of care is needed first, Limen helps people connect with the right support and continue forward from there.
The first step is a conversation.
We can help you think through the next step with care, clarity, and respect.
